Village Development Centre (VDC) is committed to empowering communities and improving livelihoods through the formation of Joint Liability Groups (JLGs). With the support of NABARD, we have successfully promoted 30 JLGs in our project area, each consisting of individualswith shared goals and aspirations.
One of the key objectives of these JLGs is to provide financial empowerment to their members. By coming together, individualscan access financial resources and opportunities that might have been challenging to attain individually.
Each JLG is a testament to the power of collaboration. Members work together to identify income generation activities that align with their skills and interests. This collaborative approach fosters a sense of unity and shared responsibility.
Thanks to the support of NABARD, 10 of these JLGs received loans of Rs. 30,000 each from Bank of Baroda, Manachanallur. These loans serve as a catalyst for various income generation activities, such as purchasing cows, goat rearing, establishing petty shops, mini hotels, tailoring units, and engaging in agricultural ventures.
The diversity of income generation activities undertaken by the JLGs reflects the unique talents and aspirations of their members. Some focus on agriculture, while others explore opportunities in retail, hospitality, or animal husbandry.
The concept of "Joint Liability" underscores the shared responsibility within these groups. Members support one another not only in financial matters but also in achieving their collective goals and addressing challenges together.
VDC's initiative in promoting JLGs is a testament to our commitment to financial inclusion. We believe that every individual, regardless of their background, should have access to financial resources and opportunities.
Through JLGs, VDC encourages self-reliance and entrepreneurship within communities. These groups serve as platforms for members to learn, grow, and ultimately become economically self-sufficient.
We view these JLGs as a path towards prosperity for the members and their families. By pooling resources, sharing knowledge, and supporting one another, these groups are building brighter futures.
VDC remains dedicated to supporting these JLGs on their journey towards financial success. We look forward to witnessing their achievements and the positive impact they create in their communities.
As we move forward, VDC will continue to work tirelessly to empower communities through initiatives like JLGs. By fostering collaboration, providing access to credit, and promoting shared responsibility, we aim to uplift individuals and communities, ultimately contributing to a more prosperous society for all.
