In February 2016, Village Development Centre (VDC) embarked on a transformative journey by organizing a training program on Textile Printing technologies. This initiative took place in Sripurampudur village and was aimed at empowering women by equipping them with valuable skills in the world of textile printing.
The training program was conducted under the expert guidance of Mr. D. Anandhaeaswar, a knowledgeable trainer from Rajasri Skill Academy, Trichy. His expertise was instrumental in ensuring that the participants received comprehensive training in textile printing.
During the training, the 30 women participants had the opportunity to explore the world of textile printing. They delved into topics such as the types of textile materials available in the market, various fabric varieties, market pricing, colour options, and the quality of printing.
The training also covered the use of colour stones, cutting techniques, and the availability of other materials essential for textile printing. Participants gained insights into the intricate process of fitting designs onto dress materials.
The participants received motivation and encouragement from esteemed guests, including Mr. S. Suresh Kumar, Assistant General Manager of NABARD, Mr.Prabhakaran, Lead Bank District Manager, and Mr.Ramanathan from SNEKA, Trichy. Their presence added value to the training program and inspired the trainees to excel in their newfound skills.
The primary goal of this initiative was to empower women with practical skills in textile printing. This skill not only enhances their creativity but also opens up opportunities for them to generate income and contribute to their households' economic well-being.
By gaining proficiency in textile printing, these women were not only exploring their artistic potential but also moving closer to self-reliance. They had the potential to use their newfound skills to start small businesses, create unique textile products, and secure a sustainable livelihood.
This training program was not just about imparting skills; it was a step towards economic independence. It equipped women with the tools they needed to support themselves and their families, thereby fostering financial stability and empowerment.
VDC believes that empowering individuals with practical skills is a catalyst for community development. By promoting creativity and entrepreneurship, we aim to uplift entire communities and create a brighter future for all.
At VDC, we remain committed to empowering individuals, especially women, through skill development. This initiative was a testament to our dedication to fostering self-reliance, creativity, and economic growth within the communities we serve.
